Tiger and Tea Parties

It looks like it will be another beautiful sunny day in Dothan, and I am off work so I can enjoy it thoroughly.

Tiger Woods seemed very contrite in his press statement this morning.  I hope he is able to change his behavior and learn to do the right thing.  He admitted to a common problem among celebrities--  thinking they don't have to play by the same rules as everyone else.  And I agree that the media need to leave his family alone.  They did nothing wrong.

It's the second day of the CPAC convention.  This isn't your father's CPAC,  now we've got this vibrant Tea Party movement telling Republicans and Democrats alike how they'd like to see our government work.  I think it would be a mistake to ignore this movement.

President Obama wants a scaled down health care bill.  Some reforms I'd like to see are:

           1. Eliminate pre-existing conditions exclusions from insurance policies.
           2. Allow portability of insurance from state to state.
           3. Pass tort reforms to stop frivilous lawsuits.

Not everything is bad news today--  how about American Evan Lysacek winning the men's figure skating gold medal in an upset over Evgeni Plushenko of Russia.  Way to go USA.

Have a blessed day.

  1. Hey Jesse,
Glad you finally had a day off, about time. Hope you enjoyed yourself.

Tiger Woods has no one to apologize to, but his wife. The media and everyone else outside of their marriage has no right or should have no interest in the intricate dealings of their PERSONAL lives. I am glad he is getting help, but that is also none of our concern just his, his wife's and God's. He (as any other athlete, tv/movie star, etc.) should be admired for their work not looked upon as a role model for your life as they are human and will make mistakes.

Now onto the olympics, Evan did a great job from the moment he hit the ice all the way to the end. He earned that Gold medal regardless if he jumped a quadruple or not, it was a perfect skate. Plushenko has started to believe his own hype that he is a god on ice, even though he 'front-packed' his program with his jumps which did include a fantastic quadruple in the beginning all he did for the last minute and a half was free skate and spins no jumps unlike Evan, which is why Evan won the gold.
So, Hurray for Evan, and Plushenko grow-up......

    For now....
    Angie
