It was a somewhat busy day at work today but I'm glad I'm off for two days. I enjoyed our LIFE group tonight. We discussed what brought us to the Westgate Church of Christ and why we have stayed-- and how do we get others to become part of God's family here.
I started going to Westgate because my sister Marti was a member and I have stayed because I can see and feel the love everyone has for each other and for those less fortunate and in need. Westgate is a church on fire for God and opportunities abound for serving Jesus and others.
One thing I learned tonight is that you don't have to have a scriptural or theological answer for everything in order to invite someone to church. People today are more interested in knowing you care about them and belong to a loving, friendly church than in what your specific beliefs or orthodoxy is. If they feel the love, then they'll be more interested in learning all the truths Jesus has taught.
